Information about Hiking, Mountain Bike and Equestrian Trails in the Altadena Foothills.
Altadena, CA is at the foot of the San Gabriel range, 15 miles north of Los Angeles.

COMMUNITY HIKING CLUB, REI and MRCA are hosting NATIONAL TRAILS DAY

WE WILL BE CLEANING UP THE TRAIL AND REMOVING TALL MUSTARD FROM THE SIDES OF THE TRAIL WHERE PASSAGE IS DIFFICULT.
WE NEED LOTS OF VOLUNTEERS! Please PLAN ON JOINING US JUNE 7TH! WE SUPPLY BREAKFAST!
REI WILL BE BRINGING PRIZES FOR LUCKY PARTICIPANTS

- Steering Committee Meetings, 2nd Tuesdays, Altadena Community Center, 7 - 9 pm.

- Regular 2nd Saturday A.C.T. HIKE - The Altadena Crest Trail Restoration Working Group is hosting Regular Hiking Events the 2nd Saturday of each month, to highlight the A.C.T. trailheads and trail sections from West to East. Meet time is usually around 9 am.

- Regular 4th Saturday A.C.T. TRAIL REPAIR

Five regular ACTRWG attendees have completed the County sponsored class Trail Maintenance for Volunteers, and the followup class Trail Maintenance for Supervising Volunteers. The classes, encompassed safety, trail building skills and what is allowed and expected of a volunteer for the County; and were taught by Frank Padilla, Superintendent for Trails and Fire for California State Parks in the Santa Monica Mountains. The graduating class included Sameer Etman, Amany Etman, Marietta Kruells, Bev Huntsberger and Mary Barrie.
